Israel to bar UN fact-finding team from entering

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel cut working relations with the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday and will bar a U.N. team from entering Israel or the West Bank for a planned investigation of Jewish settlements, the Foreign Ministry said.
Israel accuses the council of having a pronounced anti-Israel bias because of what it says is its disproportionate focus on Israeli policy toward the Palestinians.
Wet winter ends Israel’s 7 years of drought; half of water now supplied by desalination

TEL AVIV — Israel’s water supply has been rescued by one of the rainiest winters in years. Officials said the winter of 2012 has eased the threat of a water crisis in Israel. They said after years of drought, the water levels in acquifers and the Sea of Galilee rose significantly and beyond the so-called red line. “The Israeli water situation is back to normal dimensions after seven years of drought,” Amir Givati, an official at Israel’s Water Authority Hydrology Service, said. “This year is a turnaround.”

Doctor says Libyan tribal clashes leave 20 dead

BENGHAZI, Libya (AP) — A doctor at the main hospital in the southern Libyan city of Sabha says at least 20 people have been killed in tribal clashes there.
Surgeon Ahmed Ali al-Hefnawi says most of the fighters died from gunshot wounds.
The deadly clash underlined the fragile nature of Libya after the fall of longtime leader Moammar Gadhafi. The central government has failed to impose its authority, and Libya is ruled instead by squabbling tribes and militias.

Baghdad heavily secured against Syrian or al Qaeda attack on Arab Summit
The three-day Arab summit, the first to be held in Baghdad in more than two decades, opens Tuesday March 27 after Saudi Arabia and the Gulf Emirates obtained a promise from Iraq’s Shiite Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki not to invite Iran and receive only a low-ranking Syrian official. Although Iran’s president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was invited to former summits, Maliki bowed to those conditions because he badly needed to boost Iraq’s credibility in the Arab world and demonstrate its recovery from years of violence.

Attacking Iran will spell Israel's end: Cleric

A senior Iranian cleric says the Israeli threats of a military strike on Iran are mere “psychological warfare” as Tel Aviv fully understands any such venture would lead to its “total annihilation”. “There has been some talk in the media for some time of a military move [against Iran] by the Zionist regime [of Israel] in particular; these menacing murmurs are nothing but psychological warfare,” Ayatollah Seyyed Ahmad Khatami said on Monday.

Next attack will be much more devastating than terror attacks in India and Bangkok, Iran warns
Any future Iranian attacks in response to threats by Israel or the West will be much more complex and devastating than the recent terror attacks in India and Bangkok, the Islamic regime warned Saturday.
At the same time, Iran, fearing American firepower, is trying to drive a wedge between the United States and Israel by suggesting that, if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities and the U.S. stays out of it, Washington need not fear Iranian retaliation. Israel and the U.S. are already at odds about attacking Iranian nuclear facilities
