Netanyahu to call on Abbas to return to the negotiating table

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu intends to send a letter to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, in which he will call on him to return to the negotiating table, promptly and without preconditions.A senior Israeli official said the letter would be a response to a similar communiqué Abbas plans to relay to Netanyahu in the upcoming days.


Pro-Palestinian groups plan April 15 mass arrival in Israel

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian activists and their families plan to fly to Israel in mid-April to commemorate Land Day, a member of the event's organizing committee told Haaretz. "On April 15, more than 1,000 activists with European and other passports intend to fly to Israel's Ben-Gurion Airport for a Land Day event entitled 'Welcome to Palestine,'" he said.

BEIRUT (AP) — Syrian troops began pulling out Tuesday from some calm cities and headed back to their bases a week ahead of a deadline to implement an international cease-fire plan, a government official said. The claim could not immediately be verified and activists near the capital Damascus denied troops were leaving their area.
They said the day regime forces withdraw from streets, Syria will witness massive protests that will overthrow the government.

The U.N. Security Council will have to take “very urgent and serious” action if Syria fails to meet an April 10 deadline to halt its military operations in protest cities, U.S. ambassador Susan Rice said Tuesday.U.N. Security Council members negotiated a statement backing the April 10 deadline that U.N.-Arab League envoy Kofi Annan says Syria has accepted, as fierce clashes were reported between government forces and rebels.

America’s dangerous game in Yemen

Washington has ramped up its efforts against Al-Qaeda in Yemen, launching dozens of air attacks targeting the terror group. However it risks getting drawn into another military operation abroad.
In March alone, Washington backed at least six air strikes, killing both militants and civilians.
The US has been encouraging the Yemeni government to crack down on the insurgents, who have recently built on their gains in southern Yemen.

The warship’s support group is on the way.

The global campaign of imposing sanctions against Iran has so far failed to halt Tehran's controversial nuclear drive, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Tuesday.

At least two tornadoes touched down near Dallas on Tuesday. The National Weather Service declared a tornado emergency for Dallas-Fort Worth, as warning sirens echoed throughout the downtown area. A powerful rainstorm is battering Japan, paralyzing traffic and leaving thousands of homes without electricity. The storm halted commuter trains and grounded more than 500 domestic flights in and around Tokyo.Three people have been killed and at least 305 injured by the rainstorm, which lashed Japan's main island of Honshu Tuesday. Public broadcaster NHK tallied at least 97 people injured across 17 prefectures.

What in the world is going on in the heartland of America? Spring has barely even begun and we are seeing communities all over America being ripped to shreds by gigantic tornadoes. A lot of meteorologists claimed that the nightmarish tornado season of 2011 was an "anomaly", but 2012 is shaping up to be just as bad or even worse.  These tornado outbreaks just seem to keep getting more frequent and more powerful.
